Doyon, Limited is the largest private landowner in the State of Alaska at 12.5 million acres. We have a long and productive history working with industry and private capital to explore our lands and nearby public lands for hydrocarbons, precious metals and base metals. Exploration projects range from 100% Doyon funded ventures to conventional landowner lessor/lessee relationships with third parties.
Doyon affiliated companies are heavily involved in support services to the natural resource development sector in Alaska, especially the oil and gas industry. With our 7 drill rigs, Doyon Drilling has been a leader in Arctic drilling for over 30 years. Doyon Universal Services and Doyon Remote Facilities provide catering, housekeeping and camp facilities throughout the State. We are the sole security contractor for the Trans Alaska Pipeline System and provide security throughout Alaska and other parts of the U.S. Our companies also build pipelines and engineer oil and gas field projects. An illustrative recent client list and links to links to oil industry affiliate websites are shown below.
Doyon, Limited is an Alaska based, state chartered for-profit company with over 18,000 shareholders of Native American descent. We were formed in the early 1970s as a result of the federal Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act which resolved aboriginal land claims to Alaska. Unlike the rest of the United States and tribes there, there is no federal oversight of our affairs. After tax net income in 2011 was $22 million on revenues of $314 million.
